Biography
I grew up in South Africa, and completed an undergraduate degree in Medical Biochemsitry at the University of Cape Town before moving to the UK to pursue my clinical training.

Training
BSc in Medical Biochemistry at the University of Cape Town, awarded with distinction
Completed clinical training at Oxford University
Completed senior house officer posts in Accident and Emergency and Internal Medicine in Liverpool and Newcastle upon Tyne between 1997 and 2000, before working as a Medical Registrar in 2001
Completed PhD in Immunology in the department of Infectious Diseases at St George's Hospital, London (2001-4), looking at host-pathogen interactions in Salmonella (typhoid and non-typhoid) infection
Completed specialist training in Medical Microbiology between 2005 and 2009, and took up consultant post at RLUH in May 2010
