Dr Tom Kennedy trained at Charing Cross Hospital Medical School. Appointed as Consultant Physician and Rheumatologist to Arrowe Park Hospital in 1988, where I became the first Director of Rehabilitation and Rheumatology. I was also the first lead for the Clinical Practice Research Unit and developed the Path.Finder project where clinicians shared information with primary care on when to refer patients to the specialist services. This project was rolled out to 10 other NHS trusts. I was appointed to the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals in 2004. In 2005, I was appointed Subdean for the Liverpool University medical students who attended the Royal Liverpool Hospital. In 2006 I was appointed Director of Clinical Studies for the Medical School and in 20010 I was given responsibility for the Curriculum. I have also chaired the British Society of Rheumatology Standards Guidelines and Audit working group and was responsible for publication of 8 Clinical guidelines.
