Lesley has represented Dentistry on several national committees and has chaired the Dental Sedation Teachers Group. She is a member of the Dental Advisory Group for the BNF and has contributed to several books and national guidelines.
Biography
Lesley Longman is a Senior Lecturer/Honorary Consultant in Special Care Dentistry at the University of Liverpool School Of Dentistry & RLBUHT. She gained a BSc in pharmacology before studying dentistry at Liverpool. During a clinical lectureship she researched into the association betweeninfective endocarditis and dentistry, gaining her PhD in1991. In 1997 Lesley became a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at the Liverpool Dental Hospital and returned to the university in 2009. She has developed service provision and teaching for undergraduates, postgraduates and dental care professions in conscious sedation and the new specialty of Special Care Dentistry.
