We provide clinical skills training to undergraduate medical students, postgraduate medical trainees, nurses and allied health professionals.
We do this from our Clinical Skills Laboratory which is a part of the Trust’s Education and Learning Service.
This first-class facility aims to provide multi-disciplinary clinical skills training to health care professionals to help develop, improve and maintain competence in the clinical area. It is a centre for innovative teaching and experiential learning that also provides a safe and friendly environment to all learners.
The programme ranges from the basic to more complex clinical procedures. The Clinical Skills Team primarily delivers the training but senior clinicians from different specialties and departments also contribute to the delivery of clinical skills training where required.
Staff who are employed by the Trust and are currently working within the two sites can use the services of the laboratory free of charge. Medical students from the University of Liverpool who are on rotation are entitled to clinical skills laboratory services as a part of their learning experience. Bespoke training programme are also organised and delivered for external organisations.
By integrating best practice guidelines and research in all our teaching activities, we work towards improving and maintaining safe and high standards of practice whilst promoting the importance of life-long learning.
