Research Development & Innovation Department

What we do

The Research Development & Innovation (RD&I) department are a central corporate function within the Trust. The department, in collaboration with the University of Liverpool, supports the development of high quality research and innovation within the Royal Liverpool University Teaching Hospital.

The RD&I department takes an organisation-level lead in ensuring that research is conducted and managed to high scientific, ethical, and financial standards. We work closely with all research staff to prepare grant applications to a variety of funding bodies and contribute to developing an active research organisation.

We also work closely with the Trust's Corporate Management Team, which has representation from each area in the organisation. This helps to ensure that research is aligned with the Trust's objectives and allows development of research activity.

If you are interested in taking part in a research project yourself, either as a patient or a healthy volunteer, you can sign up to our unique 'Consent for Consent' programme. Please click here for further details.
