Research and development

The Research & Development department is a central corporate function within the Trust. The department, in collaboration with the University of Liverpool, supports the development of high quality R&D within the Royal Liverpool University Teaching Hospital.

The R&D department takes an organisation-level lead in ensuring that research is conducted and managed to high scientific, ethical and financial standards. It works closely with all research staff to prepare grant applications to a variety of funding bodies and contributes to developing an active research organisation.

The department works closely with the Trust's Corporate Management Team, which has representation from each area in the organisation. This ensures research is aligned with the Trust's objectives and allows development of research activity.

The R&D Department collates and maintains a central register of research projects undertaken by the Trust, enabling the reporting of activity and research expenditure to the Department of Health.
