Practice Education Facilitators

Easy Read Information

Practice Education Facilitators are the people who help students and staff to get the right opportunities to learn while they are working in the Trust.

This page gives information about the work of our team of Practice Education Facilitators.

What we do

At the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospital Trust we offer the highest quality experience for all our learners from many healthcare professions.

A team of Practice Education Facilitators ensure all our students get the best out of their training with us. Mentors and Practice Educators support our students throughout their training at our hospitals.

Learning and support continues once you have completed your course. The Trust offers a comprehensive preceptorship programme for all newly qualified healthcare professionals starting their very first Band 5 post.

We also offer a range of post-qualification courses.

If you are a student on an undergraduate healthcare course you can enquire about an elective placement with us.

The main focus of the Practice Education Facilitators' role is to assist in maintaining the quality of the practice learning environment and also to drive inter-professional learning in practice. We do this by:

  • Providing ongoing support to professionals who have a responsibility for supervising students.
  • Providing advice and guidance on working within Regulatory Body Standards.
  • Offering opportunities for staff to access mentor/educator updates.
  • Offering access to study sessions for staff and students.
  • Working in partnership with Universities to assure the quality of practice learning.
  • Non-medical electives

Electives for non-medical placements

The relevant department will facilitate your request. An administration fee of £150 is charged per student for the elective placement. Please note that this fee is non-refundable if you choose not to proceed with the placement. This will only be charged if the trust can facilitate the request.

The team

Our team of four Practice Education Facilitators works closely with practice placements and University staff to ensure that all healthcare students receive a good quality learning experience in our Trust.
