Bone and Soft Tissue Cancer Surgery

Easy Read Information

This page gives information about our work for patients who have cancer in a bone or other part of their body.

Who we are

We are a referral centre for the Northwest region and North Wales for benign bone and soft tissue tumours cancers, soft tissue sarcomas and metastatic bone lesions.

Each consultant surgeon and many other staff focus their expertise into a localised anatomical (part of the body) area. Having such specialist skills means patient care is focused and specialised - allowing better care and treatment. Each patient we see is offered treatment for their condition by a consultant surgeon who is a specialist in that area.

What we do

We attend to patients who are suspected as having bone or soft tissue tumours.

Our service sees patients who may possibly have a bone or soft tissue tumour as quickly as possible, in order to investigate the symptoms with which they present.

It's hugely important, with any tissue cancer, to get treatment as soon as possible. If you think you may have a skin or tissue lesion that may need attention, don't put it off: go and see your GP today.

Our elective clinics take place at the Royal Liverpool Hospital. The clinics run with both the consultants and specialist nurse in attendance.
