Man raises money for the Royal in memory of his nan and sister-in-law

Ian Wakefield is currently raising funds for the ITU department in The Royal Liverpool Hospital. Here’s why...

"Bringing in the New Year 2018, was not quite the start of the year that I had hoped for, with the sad loss of my beloved Nan (Nannie Bet) and my beautiful sister in law Jo. How is it fair that two lives can be taken so suddenly from us?"

"In their honour and memory I will be climbing Ben Nevis on July 21, in an effort to raise as much money as possible for the incredible work the Intensive care Unit at The Liverpool Royal Hospital do on a daily basis and although I never thought we would require their services, they gave the most outstanding, compassionate and innovative care to our Jo. The care she received was second to none and they did us all proud until we had to say our goodbyes."

What would we do without them? OUR NHS.

Every penny donated will ensure that other patients will receive the same excellent care that Nannie Bet and Jo did.

The NHS has put in place measures to ensure the safety of all patients and NHS staff while also ensuring services are available to the public as normal. If you have a hospital appointment then you should attend as planned.
