Become A Hospital Hero and Volunteer with Us…..
Volunteering with the fundraising team at R Charity gives you an opportunity to make a difference to peoples’ lives in your community. You can use your skills and experience as well as enhance your CV. Volunteering gives you the chance to meet people from all walks of life and is fun and fulfilling, allowing you to experience many diverse opportunities not always available to you elsewhere. We will give you an induction and training relevant to this role, and all the materials about the New Royal and R Charity that you’ll need to have good conversations with your community.
Collection Tin Champion
We are keen to get 100s of R Charity collection tins out into the community. They can be placed in shops and businesses across Merseyside. To achieve this we need confident volunteers to manage a “patch” in Merseyside, where you will be the face of R Charity. You would visit local shops, pubs and businesses, asking them to display a collection tin for R Charity, and once full, returning to collect it.
Whether helping out at one of our supermarket bag packs or donning fancy dress for one of our city centre collections, this is a great way to get involved and help raise money for R Charity. If you are outgoing, enthusiastic, enjoy meeting new people, then helping out with one of our collections is a great way to spend an afternoon!
We hold a number of different events throughout the year and have something to suit everyone whether it is marshalling a race, organising goody bags, holding a raffle or cheering for support. Use your skills and expertise to ensure that our events are a great success.
R Charity Mascot
Our new mascot Roy of the Royal, is proving very popular and as Roy’s reputation grows so do the requests for public appearances. We need an outgoing individual who is willing to turn up at charity events dressed as Roy, pose for pictures and hand out prizes. An outgoing, bubbly personality is a must.
We are looking for motivated individuals to support R Charity by becoming valued members of one of our new fundraising groups. The fundraising groups will be tasked with helping to raise funds in the local community and will comprise of people with a mixed skill set but all with the same goal of supporting the R Charity.
Got first-hand experience of the hospital? Are you passionate about the work we do here? Then we would love to hear from you. We are looking for people who would be willing to talk to others about their experience and act as an ambassador for R Charity.
Do you have a passion and enthusiasm for R Charity, good communications skills and telephone manner, good research and attention to details skills?
We're looking for someone to work at R Charity offices and conduct research on our behalf, this would include:
Researching the local community and contribute to fundraising plans and initiatives
Supporting Trust and Grants Applications
Supporting the Corporate Manager – research business, key contacts
Updating our Raisers Edge Database

The ability to work on a range of different tasks

R Charity : a registered charity
R Charity (Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust Charitable Funds) is a registered charity, charity number 1047988. Registration with the Charity Commission means we must maintain clear accounting records and prepare annual accounts. We must also prepare a trustees’ annual report to accompany our accounts. This is very important to us as it ensures all our activities and finances are transparent and scutinized by the Charity Commission as well as a independent auditor.
Details of the charity can be found on the Charity Commission website here. Simply click on the Search for a Charity page and then enter the charity number (1047988) into the Charity Search Box and you will be guided to the R Charity details.
