Giving in-memory and in celebration
Easy Read Information
This page gives you information about ways you can raise some money in memory of someone who has passed on.
Celebrating a life and helping others
Every week, we achieve amazing successes with our patients. Sadly, we also see some of our patients pass away.
Friends and families of our patients often want to raise funds for us, to recognise our care and to celebrate the life of their loved-one that we’ve treated.
There are many ways we can help families to do this in celebration or in memory of a loved-one. Here are a selection, but please ring us on 0151 706 3153 to discuss any ideas and questions you have.
Funeral Collection (for example instead of flowers)
If you’d like to organise a funeral collection in memory for R Charity, we can help. We have funeral donation cards which we can personalise to your loved-one’s name. So, if everyone knew him as “Our Jack”, that’s what we can out on the donation card. We’ll supply these with envelopes to your funeral director, who will distribute them and collect them back in at the funeral, and then forward them to us. We’ll let you know how much was donated, and take care of all the arrangements so it’s one less thing for you to worry about at such a difficult time. Many of our supporters find that this is a positive, powerful thing they can do at a time of personal loss.
Celebrate a Liverpool Life
Every December we hold a beautiful Christmas Concert to remember and celebrate lives of our loved ones. This moving event takes place at Liverpool Cathedral, with singing led by the world-renowned Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Choir.
Also at Christmas you can write a message of support to our staff or to one of our patients, which we’ll display on our Royal Christmas tree. Just call 3172 and Angela will send you special tree-tags to write your message on or download an e-version of the Christmas tag here.
Community and Family Events
If you’d like to hold your own fundraising event, for example to celebrate a return home from a treatment at the Royal, we’ve got lots of ideas and guidance to make your fundraiser a success. Please call Angela on 706 3152 and let’s get started…
If you have any questions, please email the Fundraising Team here or phone us on 0151 706 3153.
R Charity : a registered charity
R Charity (Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust Charitable Funds) is a registered charity, charity number 1047988. Registration with the Charity Commission means we must maintain clear accounting records and prepare annual accounts. We must also prepare a trustees’ annual report to accompany our accounts. This is very important to us as it ensures all our activities and finances are transparent and scutinized by the Charity Commission as well as a independent auditor.
Details of the charity can be found on the Charity Commission website here. Simply click on the Search for a Charity page and then enter the charity number (1047988) into the Charity Search Box and you will be guided to the R Charity details.
