What research, development and innovation did on NHS 70

On 5th July the whole hospital came together to celebrate both NHS70 and The Royal’s 40th, and what a day it was!  The atmosphere throughout the hospital was fantastic – the school and staff choirs had staff, patients and visitors singing and dancing in the foyer.

Research, Development and Innovation was at the heart of the celebrations with teams from across the Trust getting together to celebrate the fantastic achievements that we have made in improving the quality of the lives of our population, through research and innovation.

The RD Showcase Working Group hosted a stand in the Foyer at the Royal celebrating some of the achievements that have been seen by research teams across the Trust.   There was a lot of interest in the kinds of studies that have been run over the years and what we have planned for the future.

We also had a chat with Natasha Hamilton from Atomic Kitten before she did her close up and personal performance in the Foyer.

Sarah, Laura and Phil (NIHR Clinical Research Network: North West Coast) promoted Join Dementia Research (JDR) and celebrated the CRN’s achievements at their stand in the Education Centre.

On the behalf of the RD Showcase Working Group, I would like to thank everyone involved in making it a day to remember.
